We're Headed That Way!

We are leaving bright and early on Tuesday morning at 6:00am! If you are registered, be here at 5:45am! Bring cool clothing because it is supposed to be in the mid 50's at night while we are at the Grand Prix Tampa and Busch Gardens. During the day, it is gonna be in the 70's so factor that in too! The only meal you need to bring cash for is lunch in Busch Gardens on day one. All other meals will be provided. And we are gonna eat good!

I look forward to having a blast with everyone!

See you at Parkview at 5:45am,
Pastor Barry

Merry Christmas to the Flo!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Okay, I stole that line, but truly it is! Nothing better than observing the birth of Christ, hanging out with family and friends, and the exchanging of gifts! I trust you will have a great Christmas!

To everyone in the Flo (Overflo Student Ministries), thanks for making 2008 such a great year. And a huge shout out to all the Overflo volunteers, thanks for all you do! Your passion for ministry is overwhelming.

Enjoy your Christmas break. Sleep in a day or two, be kind to your family, watch some good movies, come to the Christmas Eve services, and get ready for New Year's Revolution (if you are going)!

A Night With The Fam!

This past Thursday, December 11 was a great night at Overflo's Family Night. We had over 130 people in attendance. Thanks to everyone that made the extra effort to be here during this busy Christmas season. I think we all learned how to annoy each other during the holidays. Now if you weren't there, we used the term "annoyed" as a play on words because we want to be kinder and more loving and more respectful.....this would annoy some because of the change for the better.

Then it was fun ending the night with the $8 mystery! We collected $8 the week before and no one knew what it was for! Thanks to the 48 students who participated in this revoluntionary project. I believe everyone was suprised that the money was for a journal that the students would present to their parents. The parents were then asked to journal the life of their student 4 times a week for the next year. Then next December the parents will give back the journal to the student. Now I firmly believe this will revolutionize families of Overflo!

And the final highlight was the video that captured Overflo over the past year...

And the sneak peak of 2009...

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone! And so has the school break! You probably struggled to get out of bed like I did this morning. Oh well, just think, you only have 3 weeks before Christmas break.

Overflo has been on a break too but we return this Thursday night, December 4 @ 6:45pm! Thanks Anna and Anthony!

Here are a couple of comments from two Overflo students about "What they are thankful for."

A Savior, eternal life, a loving family, an unbelievable youth group, great friends ~ANNA VIENS

I have gained so many friends over the past months... more are good influences then I've had all my life... I can truly say that I love them all... this church means so much to me... and I wouldn't trade for anything.... even my own personal team of ninjas....thank you everyone for letting me in your life. I love you all - ANTHONY

And as your student pastor, I would like to say not only to Anna and Anthony, but to all.... thanks for blessing me with the gift of friendship through Overflo. Yeah sure, I am your leader, but more importantly, I get to do ministry with the best students in all the world! Thanks for being a part of all that happens at Overflo! I look forward to all that God has in store for you and me! - PASTOR BARRY

Helpful Hardware

I am stoked about how many students have been attending 727 Small Groups! Now that the sessions are wrapping up, Overflo needs everyone to stay committed to walking daily with God! Click on the link below and purchase a daily devotional today! It will be helpful hardware to your daily life!

Have a great day as you connect with God,

One Word..Vacation!

Well, it is now Tuesday night and I am just getting a chance to write this blog. Why? Because I am on vacation! Laura and I left as soon as church ended on Sunday and drove up to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina to hang out with my parents for a few days! And since then, we have slept in, ate good, laughed a ton, and shopped a lot! It has been great. We still have another day of this too! Oh yeah, it is freezing here today. It is supposed to be 28 degrees tonight!

So how are you doing? Is school going well this week? Now don't forget, Overflo Student Night will be joining forces with everyone at Parkview for a special night at Parkview Celebrate this Thursday, November 20. It will be a great night especially seeing some of the Overflo students getting baptized. I hope to see you there!

Now speaking of this Thursday, our next New Year's Revolution fundraiser begins Thursday as we begin selling tickets for the Christmas Jazz Concert that will take place on Sunday, December 14. Everyone registered for NYR is required to sell tickets beginning this week and every weekend till the concert. Call the church at 445-5440 and talk to my awesome assistant, Sandra Petrin if you have not signed up to sell tickets at one of the needed times.

Don't forget...the next Overflo series, "How To Annoy Your Family During The Holidays" begins in just 2.5 weeks. On December 4, we will get started in this great 2 week series. On this night, we are asking every student to bring $8.00 for something special. Oh you want to know what it is? Well, bring your cash and we'll let you know soon! Also, let your parents know now that the following Thursday, December 11 is a special "Family Night." We'll have fun that night with students and parents!

Well, gotta get back to vacationing! Make sure you log onto http://www.theoverflo.com/ for everything that is coming up in the next month or so!

See you Thursday,
Pastor Barry

Good Night!

This past Thursday night was week one of the "What's Next" series and wow, was it a great one! As we took a short look at forever and what happens after we die, we looked at the first option which was hell. Now let me tell you, it was not easy trying to communicate this in a positive way because there is nothing positive about it. But thanks to each Overflo student that responded to God's word! I am stoked to tell you that 3 students trusted Christ and 4 students rededicated their life to Christ! Thank you to being sensitive to how God is speaking even when teaching on Hell!

Now next week is going to be great because we will be diving into our other option after life on earth expires and that is...heaven! You won't want to miss it!

Again, if you were part of the large group that was there on Thursday...thanks for coming. If you missed it, make sure you are with us this Thursday night, November 13!

BTW, great job drama team. Your drama was awesome! Thanks for all the hard work you put into it!

Well, gotta get ready for 727,

Two Great Events!

Thanks to everyone that came out this past Thursday for a special night with PGA Tour player Lee Janzen! Lee did a great job sharing his testimony about what God has done in his life on and off the golf course. Congrats to the two students who trusted in Christ that night too! Lee was excited when I told him that on Friday at the tournament.
Plus...the video welcome from PGA Tour Player Zach Johnson

Also, thanks to everyone that participated in the 727 costume night. The costumes were well thought out. Well, at least some of them. The winner was Brett Cain who dressed up like a basketball and goal. He won a $50 credit toward New Year’s Revolution.

This Thursday!
As I write this email, the Overflo drama team is practicing for this Thursday’s drama. It is going to be awesome! You won’t want to miss it. It will fit in perfect as we begin our 2 week series “What’s Next”. In “What’s Next”, we will answer life’s biggest question of “What happens when you die?” Make sure to use an invite card to invite a friend. This week’s topic will be a first in Overflo.

Three quick things…

Just 3 days away…PGA Tour golfer Lee Janzen will be our special guest at a special Overflo Student Night on Thursday, October 30 at 6:45pm. He will be sharing about his life on and off the golf course. And in addition, one student will have the opportunity to play golf with Lee Janzen! Yes, this is how…every student in attendance will be entered into a drawing and one student will be given the opportunity to challenge Lee Janzen 1-on-1 on the Tiger Woods 2009 video game! It is gonna be a blast. Invite your friends as well as your family! As an added bonus, we will be giving away 4 tickets to the Ginn golf tournament. Your parents may want to win that, so bring them out with you! Oh yeah…nachos and cheese will be served too!

Don’t forget to sign up for New Year’s Revolution in Tampa on December 30, 31 and January 1! Space is limited and spots are filling up fast! You can sign up today at TheOverflo.com. By the way, the bowl-a-thon sponsorship deadline has been extended to next Thursday, November 6! And the competition is on at 727 for that too! Ask someone if you missed out on the details!

And lastly, come and be a part of 727’s Costume Night this Saturday, November 1 @ 727! Dress up in your favorite costume and see if you’ll win the grand prize! Oh, so what is the grand prize? Come and see! Please remember that this is a church activity so stay away from the Friday the 13th look-a-likes as well as all the gothic junk. And don’t come to the Saturday 6:00pm service if you are dressing up! We don’t want everyone to think you’re psycho!

Well, have a great week! I’ll see you on Thursday!

FCA and Andy

Two Monday afternoon thoughts...

1. If you are at one of these schools, come on out to a FCA club this week! You don't have to be an athlete, as a matter of fact, most are not. It is all about getting together with our Christian friends and getting to know God a little better!

2. Got to spend some time at lunch today with Brother Andy at his home! He is recovering and doing well. He is building up his strength slowly. He looks a lot thinner too! Actually lost 34 pounds so far. He misses everybody and looks forward to being back soon! His ultimate goal is to be 100% so he can go to New Year's Revolution. Keep him in your prayers.

Well, off to do another project...

No Flo, Get Fundraising, and Fantastic Friends

1. Don't forget...there is NO Overflo Student Night tonight! Everyone's got the night off as Parkview is having special Home Connects this week. Make sure you are here next Thursday, October 23...

2. Get plugged into the 1st New Year's Revolution fundraiser!

Get a Bowlathon card from Rachel Mitchell this weekend! And if you already have fun, here's what you need to continue to do...ask individuals to sponsor you for $5 each. They do not need to be there on November 15. They just write in their name in the box (or you do) and you collect the $5 right then. You turn the card in when it is full along with the cash. You can ask for more cards. Rachel Mitchell is the one you turn everything in to. You will then be credited $4.25 out of every $5 you turn in directly to your New Year’s Revolution account. The person that sells the most sponsors (hopefully at least a couple cards) will be credited $100 extra towards their account. If there is a tie, we will do a drawing. Now mark your calendar for November 15 from 12noon to 3pm because that will be the day we bowl!

3. I just wanted to give a shout out to all the Overflo leaders as we have the night off...

Patrick and Staci Haffey
Mark and Kim Saltmarsh
Renee Stauffacher
Stacy Taing
Katie Taing
Michele Erickson
My wife, Laura
Marjorie Bostwick
Dave Compton
Ricky and Jessica Farmer
Darren Libby
Andy Jelsik (get well soon! we miss you!)

Thank you to each one of you! Overflo appreciates all you do! Your weekly faithfulness to Overflo Student Night, 727, extra events, phone calls, emails, and all that takes place at Parkview and Overflo is Christ-honoring! May God reward each one of you greatly!

Well, enjoy the night off! See you at 727!

On the way back from Tampa, we are heading to Downtown Disney to hang out for the late afternoon and early evening on Thursday, January 1!

You'll have a great time browsing around the shops such as the "World of Disney" which is the largest Disney store in the world...

And you can have a blast getting creative at LegoLand...

Yes, that is all made out of legos!

There's plenty to do there! All sounding good to you?

Well, gotta head to "Fields of Faith". Talk to you tomorrow night at Overflo Student Night!

New Year's Revolution Clue #4 and #5

Now you know the location is in Tampa, the late night fun is Tampa Grand Prix, the service project of feeding the homeless at Metropolitan Ministries Homeless Shelter, the hotel accomodations of the Wingate, so what's left?....

The plot thickens.... so I will give you 2 clues today...

The first one is we will be challenged at 3 sessions through spiritual growth led by our friend, Steve Aenis. Steve is no stranger to Overflo! He is stoked about being part of New Year's Revolution!

The second one is we will be eating at Chili's Restaurant one night and Giordana's Pizza (the best deep dish pizza in America) another night.

It gonna be a great 3 days! Make your plans now!

New Year's Revolution Clue #4

And where are we staying while at New Year's Revolution? The Americana Inn in Pigeon Forge? Absolutely not! We will be resting comfortably for 2 nights at the Wingate Hotel in Tampa, Florida. This place is awesome! I was there on Friday and you should see the recent renovations which include flat screens in your hotel room!

Well, I gotta get back to finalizing the video for New Year's Revolution which will be shown this Thursday at Overflo Student Night!

Here is something that will change your life, or at least your perspective on life while you attend New Year's Revolution 2008-2009...

You will have the awesome opportunity to serve a meal to the homeless families of Tampa while at NYR. We will be visiting the Metropolitan Ministries and participate in a 3 hour dinner shift.

In addition, you will be part of great service project! More details in the next few days!

Be @ 727!

It's Saturday afternoon and hopefully you will be @ 727 tonight! We are in our second week of "Teens vs. Parents"! If you weren't there the 1st week, you can still join in! I am stoked about adding new men Overflo volunteers to the mix @ 727! Guys, this will allow you to get more connected in a smaller group size.

As you will notice tonight, I will not be there. I am in Alabama speaking at a youth retreat for a friend of mine's youth group. I arrived last night and spoke right when I got here. I then spoke this morning, will do again tonight and then twice tomorrow morning. It has been fun, but extremely cold here! This morning it was 14 degrees here!

I am glad to be here but certainly look forward to being back in Florida, near my wife, and hanging out with the greatest students in the world...Overflo! As an added bonus, I will be showing you a clip or two at Overflo Student Night of my trip here.

Well, I'll let you run! Missing everyone!

New Year's Revolution Clue #2

All right...are you wondering what we are going to do while in Tampa? Well, one of the late night activities is on Tuesday, December 30 around 8pm as we head to....

Everyone will have an opportunity to play a game of putt-putt golf, ride the family go-kart track, and play video games in the arcade! We'll have a great time.

Now this is just about 10% of the amount of fun we are going to have.

Stay tuned for more...

Oh yeah, I almost forgot...you want to know the first clue...ok...here it is... we are heading to..

That's right...the coolest place on the west coast of Florida....Tampa! Why Tampa? Well, you will have to wait and see over the next few days!

Photo 1: Here the baby is looking directly at you. Notice the cute face....thank goodness...he'll look like his mother!

Photo 2: Notice the baby showing his cute little arm and hand. He was saying "HI" to Overflo!

Photo 3: Here the baby is just chilling! Notice the head to the left, with his foot touching his head. Think you could do that at your age?

Even with a tornado warning or watch (whatever it was) in Palm Coast, we still had a great crowd. We feed 125 people plus some of the 30 students who got the leftovers! Thanks to all those who attended our event. We hope you enjoyed it. Thanks to all the Overflo students for doing such a great job! And a huge shout out of thanks to the ladies in the kitchen. Also...the Overflo Spaghetti Dinner
If you are interested in going to Winter Extreme in Gatlinburg, you need to be part of the spaghetti dinner that we will be hosting this Thursday from 5:45pm - 6:45pm. I need everyone to be here in black bottoms and white tops at 4:30pm! Be ready to work as we raise money to offset the cost of the charter bus to Winter Extreme. An Andy Update
Brother Andy is resting comfortably in the hospital after having triple bypass surgery last Thursday. Please continue to pray for a speedy recovery. If you visit him at Florida Hospital Ormond, please make it brief (5 minutes max.) so he can get his rest!

Well, hopefully, I will see you at the spaghetti dinner, Parkview Celebrate, or at a weekend service! Enjoy your Tuesday off!

Andy Is Blowing Kisses

The latest news is that Brother Andy is doing very well after having triple bypass surgery yesterday. They were going to wait but then decided to do it. He came out of surgery at 7:30pm last night. Laura and I along with my dad went into the ICU right after he came out of surgery and you should have seen it. He recognized us all even mouthing a kiss toward Laura while wearing an oxygen mask. That thrilled us to see how good he was doing.

The doctor was thrilled how surgery went! He will now be resting for a few days. Thanks for all your prayers. We'll keep you informed in the days to come.

Enjoy another day off school,
Pastor Barry

No Overflo Tonight / Another Andy Update

OVERFLO CANCELLED
Due to the crappy weather from Fay, we are cancelling Overflo Student Night tonight! So don't show up tonight! Call your friends and let them know! I'm bummed about it because I was looking forward to the new series beginning! Oh well, we will get that started on Sept. 4 because next week is Parkview Celebrate night on Thursday. (Over 10 Overflo students getting baptized)

ANDY UPDATE
Now even more important...the doctors have changed their minds on waiting to do Brother Andy's heart surgery in a few weeks. The doctors have now said they don't want to wait. So they came and got him right away and wheeled him into the O.R. at 11:45am. PLEASE PRAYER FOR ANDY RIGHT NOW AS HE IS IN OPEN HEART SURGERY! I'm heading to the hospital shortly to be there when he gets out of surgery. I will update then.

SCROLL DOWN TO THE BROADTEXTER BLOG AND ENTER YOUR CELL NUMBER TO GET OVERFLO TEXT MESSAGES which I send out with updates including Andy updates.

That's all for now,

An Andy Update

Through emails, text messaging and cell phones many in Overflo and our church family were asked to pray for one of our most faithful Overflo volunteers, Andy Jelsik. Some time Monday night, Brother Andy had a heart attack at home. Tuesday afternoon, yesterday, Brother Andy went in for a heart cath. During the procedure the cardiologist was having difficulty navigating the tube and wire throught the artery. Somewhere in his stomach area the wire punctured throught the wall of the artery and Brother Andy began to bleed internally. At one point they had to put the paddles on Brother Andy. It was a very scarry and precarious time. My dad and I were the only ones at the hospital and when the doctor came out he was VERY concerned for Brother Andy and they were not certain he would make it. They got a skin stint around the puncture but while it slowed down the bleeding, it did not stop it. As quickly as they could stabilize Brother Andy and get him up to the o.r., they operated to stop the bleeding. The operation was successful, but he was still and is still not totally out of the woods. I spoke with the surgeon last night and he did feel confident and said the surgery went well.

I just came from the hosptital (Wednesday) after a morning visit with Brother Andy. I was able to speak with Brother Andy and he was able to communicate by nodding his head and squeezing with his hand. He is still heavily sedated at this point. Please keep praying. They do know that Brother Andy has a right coronary artery that is 95% blocked and that is what caused the heart attack in the first place. They will look to address in the next few days according to his recovery from yesterday's surgery. Countless people were praying and God has heard the prayers of His people! As a side note, the doctors have asked for no visitors at this time so Brother Andy can rest. Just keep praying for him.

Now come and be a part of Overflo Student Night, tomorrow, August 21 at 6:45pm RAIN or SHINE! We will have a special time of prayer for Brother Andy!

Well, I will keep you updated on Brother Andy as soon as I hear something.

A New Student Coming to Overflo

Well, if you haven't heard yet...there will be a really cool student coming to Overflo on March 23, 2008. Yep, Laura and I are gonna be parents! Now to say that we are excited is an understatement! We've known for about a month or so but wanted to get confirmation from the doctor. And we got that on Thursday from our new friend, Dr. White.

Here's what is funny. When we were at Youth Alive, we knew and played it off well. No one even noticed that Laura and I didn't ride one thing except the slow train around Six Flags. All we did was walk around because we knew she wasn't supposed to ride anything being pregnant. I think all we did was eat. Hence, that's what happens now in our house. She needs to eat really good because she is now feeding two! I'm sure what my excuse is for eating too!

Let me apologize in advance...you are gonna hear us talking about this for a long time! Think will ever have a problem getting a baby sitter? Think I may know a few students!

Stoked outta my mind about our child,

You Hear the Recap?
This past Thursday’s Student Night was awesome! Overflo invited all students and their parents to take part in the Youth Alive Recap Night. We had over 80 in attendance. The band did great. The games were outstanding especially the 5 dads who did a little dance! But the best part of the night was hearing from 12 students and 1 adult who attended Youth Alive. Each one shared what God did in their life that week.

Congrats to the $100 Winner…
At this past Thursday’s big night, Overflo gave away a $100 voucher to Jessica Gibson for Winter Extreme 2008. All you had to do was just show up this past Thursday and your name was entered into the drawing! It was that easy.

What A Game!
This past Friday, August 1, Overflo was part of the Family Faith Night at the Jacksonville Suns baseball game and post concert with Mark Schultz as well as fireworks. There were 22 of us that went and had a great time. It was on of the best baseball games I ever saw live. The game concluded with back to back home runs in the bottom of the 9th to give the Suns the victory. Then it was fireworks and a concert by Mark Schultz. He was awesome especially only being about 200 feet from the stage.

Tubing Down the Ichetucknee
On Friday, August 15, Overflo will be heading down the Ichetucknee River for our annual tubing trip. Join with Overflo as we enjoy the final Friday before school starts! Cost is only $16.00 and includes tube rental, park admission, and transportation. You’ll need to bring $$$ for food as we will stop for lunch on the way over as well as dinner on the way back. Sign up at the welcome center on Thursday or at a weekend service! Money is due by Thursday, August 14.

A Wet Wednesday

It's raining again! Since you can go outside and play, let me give you some things to mark on your calendar...

A Big Recap this Thursday
God did great things while at Youth Alive. Numerous Overflo students made decisions for Christ. I believe there were over a dozen that trusted Christ, 4 rededications, and at least 15 that committed to some type of Christian service in their life. So with that being said, I want to invite you and your entire family out to this Thursday, July 31 as Overflo Student Night hosts “A Youth Alive Recap”! Whether you attended YA or not, you won’t want to miss this Thursday at 6:45pm! We’ll have some photos, great music and testimonies from some students.

Want $100?
At this Thursday’s big night, we will be giving away a $100 voucher to one student for Winter Extreme 2008. All you have to do is just show up this Thursday and your name will be entered into the drawing! It’s that easy.

Batter’s Up
Friday, August 1 - Family Faith Night at the Jacksonville Suns baseball game. Post concert with Mark Schultz as well as fireworks. Cost $15.00 includes game ticket, concert, and transportation. Invite the whole family. You must email me now if you are planning to attend and did not sign up in the lobby!

Tubing Down the Ichetucknee

Don't forget about this Friday, August 1!

If you have not signed up on the list in the lobby and you want to go, you must email me now! There will not be an opportunity to sign up on Thursday!

Youth Alive Day 4 and 5 Wrap

Thursday was another great day! We started off at breakfast and then onto a breakout session. After that, it was time for the morning service. Another challenge to us spiritually. Then lunch followed by an afternoon of games and fun including waterslides and muddy fun on the soccer field. A little clean up then dinner time. We then headed to the evening service with Tony Nolan speaking. It was really good..with lots of decisions made down front! Then it was a concert by Big Daddy Weave (AWESOME!!!) and post concert fireworks. Off to bed around 1am!

Early rise for our departure back to Palm Coast. On the road by 8:45am. Glad the A/C on teh bus was fixed! Made for a better ride home. If you could have seen how the students were laying everywhere trying to get some sleep! A big plus on a long trip...stopped at Cracker Barrel for a great lunch! Real food! We arrived back around 6:15pm! Glad to be home!

Another great Youth Alive! God did great things! We had at least 12 students accept Christ, numerous rededications, and many called to Christian service. Come and hear all that happened at Youth Alive at a special Overflo this Thursday (July 31) at 6:45pm. All are invited to attend. We want all parents to come too! One student will win a $100 credit of our next big trip when we head to Winter Extreme in Gatlinburg in just 5 months away!

Well, gotta get some rest!

Youth Alive Day 2 and 3 Wrap

We have been swamped! Busy..busy..busy! But fun! Tuesday was a full day from sun up to sun down and then some! We had a morning service then lunch then afternoon activities. It was all fun, but very long and hot!

On Tuesday evening, it was time for the evening service with Ergun Caner speaking. He's one of our favorites! Wow, what a message on answering God's call on your life. Overflo responded with some 2 dozen of our students answering the call of ministry or service. That was phenominal! So thankful for what God continues to do in the hearts of Overflo. Then it was time for a late night concert with Building 429. They were good (and loud too). The students liked it. Then it was onto the snack truck at 11:30pm for a hot dog. Off to bed around 12:30am!

Now Wedenesday was a little early for us after getting to bed so late. We met for breakfast and then boarded the bus at 8:00am for Six Flags over Georgia. We were at the park from 10am till around 4pm. After a 2 hour trip back to Chatt., it was time for a quick shower and then din-din! Then it was time for the evening service at 8pm. It was a great night with Jonathan Falwell (one of my favs.) speaking. Great message from the heart of a pastor. Then a full concert from American Idol's Chris Sligh. He had a great testimony and could flat out sing. After the concert, it was midnight snack time with Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. Is this healthy at such a late hour? Well, it was off to the dorm for curfew...lights out around 1am!

See you soon,
Pastor Barry

Youth Alive Day 1 Wrap

We are here in Chattanooga! The trip was pretty uneventful except the bus air didn't work well at all! But we survived. It took us exactly 9 hours including a pit stop and a terrific lunch at McD's...not! Once here, we got into our dorm rooms and then got ready for dinner. After that, it was time for the evening service. The music was great with Charles Billingsly leading. Then Clayton King spoke on John 10:10. Wow, what a challenge! Listen to this...8 of our students trusted Christ! That's worth the trip!

Then we were part of a 45 minute concert with Natalie Grant! That was awesome. Finally, it was off for a midnight snack then off to bed around 12:30am. Long day!

Now it is time to get to the morning service....

Later,
Pastor Barry

Another Fun Friday

We just got back from Daytona Lagoon and the Volusia Mall. 36 of us went and had a great time. The mall was fun although I don't think anyone bought much stuff....except lunch of course! Then it was onto the Lagoon. And here came the rain. But we were able to sneak in the mini golf and go-carts just in the nick of time. Then it was inside for some fun on the rockwall and a game or two of lazer tag. Now that was a blast. Whoever thought shooting a red pointer thing would be so much fun?

Well, it is time to head for the house.

Now here's 4 things to make sure of...

1. You attend 727 tomorrow night.
2. You are at a weekend service.
3. You log onto the All Out War blog.
4. You buy your Suns game/Mark Schultz concert tickets.

Home Sweet Home

Well, we're back! Vacation has ended. And it is back to Parkview. Since the last post, we finished out our cruise in Key West on Thursday. That was fun especially renting a waverunner and touring the island while flying through the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic.

But as with life so is vacation....all good things must come to an end! So we got off the boat on Friday morning and headed back to Palm Coast. Cool thing is, we were looking forward to this weekend as Calling Levi has been singing at all the weekend services.

Now we are back in the swing of things this week with Overflo Student Night this Thursday (July 10) at 6:45pm! Don't miss out as we continue in our "All Out War" series. Click on that blog to journal with other Overflo students.

Well, gotta run! Laura and I look forward to seeing you Thursday!

From Somewhere in the Atlantic

As I type this, we are floating somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic on our way to Key West. This cruise has been a blast! We have had a ton of fun! We went snorkeling yesterday in Nassau! Wow, you could see for hundreds of feet at all the awesome fish! Right out in the ocean on a coral reef! Today we got rained out at Coco Cay so we have just been sailing toward Key West.

Think I have gained at least 10 pounds. It is 5pm and I have already eatin' 3 times today! Dinner is still to come!

Hope all is well in PC! Don't forget there is no Overflo Student Night tomorrow (July 3) or 727 on Saturday due to 4th of July! Be there for a weekend service as Calling Levi sings at all weekend services!

Gotta run...dinner time!

From Miami

Well, it is like day 3 or 4 of vacation and we're still having a blast. I am pepto-bismalling it every couple of hours 'cause I got some stomach funk. Oh well, it is getting better. It hasn't slowed me down yet.

Since my last post, we did the Marlins game thing! That was fun. There was only about 3000 people there, but they broke their losing streak because we were there! You should have heard me sing the 7th inning stretch of "Take me out to the ball game".

Yesterday (Saturday) was a golf day at a really cool course in Coral Springs. We found it on a discount web site! Laura and I played pretty well for never playing there before. Last night was Subway and a relaxing night watching the waves from our balcony.

Today (Sunday) was a church day for us. Yes, we still do church on vacation and we are even going to another cool church tonight. ( Laura says that just 'cause we are on vacation doesn't mean God is on one....preach it sister!)

Tomorrow...it is cruise time! We can't wait. We'll gotta run...we are getting charged by the minute at this internet cafe'!

Stoked about cruisin',

Leave Me Alone

Why...because I am on vacation! Just kidding. Actually, you aren't bothering me! But yes, I am on vacation for 10 days with Laura! We left Thursday morning (after mowing the lawn at 7:30am and getting stung by a wasp while doing so) and headed to Miami. We got checked in and then went down to South Beach where all the freeks in the world hang out. Oh well, it was an eye opener and an experience. We actually found a real cool pizza/pasta house. It was awesome. We then road all over Miami Beach and did some sight seeing. Our hotel is 2 blocks from the ocean. It was a good bid on hotwire.com for location.

Got up this morning and we walked to the ocean. Wow, a lot cleaner and clearer than PC's beaches. Then we went to a famous deli for lunch and it was a rip off (Laura says it wasn't) , but still a fun experience. We have driven all over again today. Now we are getting ready to go to the Marlins game tonight.

Just 3 more days and we're sailing to Key West, the Bahamas, and some private island. Laura's stoked because she has never been on a cruise!

I heard things went great at Overflo last night. I knew Steve would do well. He's awesome!

Well, have a great weekend! Don't forget about 727 tomorrow night! Just because I won't be there doesn't mean you can skip too! Matter of fact, I am going to reward one person when I get back in town. So get to 727 and I will draw a name from one of you! So you want to know what the reward is (like Laura is asking right now).....I'll let you know!

Gotta run....

Can You Say Phenominal? Is That How You Spell It?

This past Thursday rocked! And here's 4 reasons why...

1. We played a monster game of "Trench" outside. Sorry we couldn't do "Capture the Flag", but the field was being used for construction. Anyways, we had fun!

2. Bruster's Ice Cream was here giving away free ice cream. Thanks a million to the Duffy's!

3. We had 65 students on the campus! Thanks for coming out.

4. 14 Students made a commitment to either rededicate or give their life to Christ. That is phenominal!

That's what I call an incredible night at Overflo!

Now that school is out, make sure you don't forget about Overflo every Thursday at 6:45pm. We are beginning a new series that will be great. Here's some info...

See you Thursday,

That's right, this Thursday, June 5 @ 6:45pm is the night where 2 big activities will be taking place at Overflo Student Night! First, we are going to play a giant game of "Capture the Flag" and then it's a FREE ice cream party at Overflo from our friends at Bruster's! So come on out to a great night of cool music, exciting games, awesome ice cream, and some other fun happenings. Now bring a friend out too because there will be a special drawing for first time guests.

I am officially stoked beyond my control! This is why....we had an incredible Overflo Student Night this past Thursday, May 22! Well, I hope you have a great weekend. Enjoy your Memorial Day with the family. Laura and I are heading to Orlando today for a short overnight stay and some fun there on Monday. Think a little golf is in our plans tomorrow. Another whippin' on the golf course (from Laura probably).

Well, it was a very busy day around here today as Overflo hosted a car wash and bake sale in conjunction with the church's yard sale. Awesome note...we raised $420 to go toward our charter bus rental for Youth Alive! Thanks for all the Overflo students (some who weren't even going to YA) and some moms for helping at the car wash. We washed over 30 vehicles (p.s. I now hate suv's....pain to wash!). Also, thanks to all those who baked for the bake sale. A big shout out to Mrs. Michele for making it happen all day long!

Even though I am totally pooped from washing cars, I still enjoyed hanging out with everyone from Overflo! Y'all rock...even with some of you who can't wash cars...good trying though!

Hope to see everyone at 727 tonight as well as a weekend worship service. Don't forget to pencil in this Thursday night, May 22 as we conclude our "Exposed" series. It is going to be life changing at Overflo Student Night!

Can I Take Your Order?

Last night (Sunday) some of the students of Overflo got together for a late dinner at Steak 'N Shake. It was a last minute idea at 727 the night before. But much to my surprise, we had over 20 students and some parents.

Of course, the night began by the waitress asking, "Can I take your order?" The evening was only then beginning. After 2 hours of eating and talking, I witnessed something I never thought I'd ever see at Steak 'N Shake.

Now, to know what I am talking about, you need to come to Parkview Celebrate this Thursday, May 15 as Overflo joins along with the all people of Parkview. The night will be awesome as the Overflo band leads in worship. There will be baptism, baby dedication, and communion. You will not want to miss it.

And, after Parkview Celebrate, from 8:15-8:30pm, there will be free ice cream sandwiches for all Overflo Students in the SonZone Theater.

See you then,
Pastor Barry

2 B or Not 2 B

Here's "2" things for you....

1. Youth Alive is SOLD OUT! Yep, we have filled the charter bus with 54! Awesome! Overflo will be emailing the registered YA students an email with an upcoming payment schedule as well as other important info!

2. Overflo Student Night is back in action this Thursday, May 8 @ 6:45pm as we continue in our current series, "Exposed". Make sure you are here. It's gonna "B" another fun night! Gotta cool couple activities to tell you about!

Well, it is off to hang out with my wife! We're heading to Daytona!
