Right on Track

I am stoked! I have been doing some reading lately on leadership and growth in student ministries and because of our dedicated Overflo volunteers and awesome students, we are right on track to see God continue to do great things in Overflo! Thanks to everyone for all that you do to make Overflo happen each and every week. Y'all rock! Thanks too for allowing me to be your leader. I fall short sometimes, but I want you to know that each of you motivate me to give it my all! I can't wait to see what God is going to do!

Speaking of being "right on track", I had the opportunity to attend a Matanzas track meet last Tuesday night. It was cool (literally too). We have quite a few Overflo students on the team! Here's some photos from my track experience!

Great job y'all! Hope all goes well this week in Gainesville!

Have a groovy week,
Pastor Barry

That's My Story - Episode 2

A blog from Overflo Student, Joe

Hey guys I’m Joseph Unverzagt…Or Joe. Most of you know my brother J.T, Some know me. others don’t even have the slightest clue who I am so it all works out in the end. I was saved I believe three years ago and have been going to Parkview since October in 2003...I think, Any who I enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing video games, Golf, writing, and a couple more things.

Overflo has been great and same with 727 small groups. I can say that no matter what it is, there's never a dull moment with Troy’s games, Barry’s messages, or Darren’s music. It’s always a blast to go to these things and have fun with friends. Though I sometimes wished that J.T. could come to these things and have fun but he’s busy now so I understand.

Well that’s it really I can say that I’m looking forward to what God is going to do with Overflo and 727.

Hope to see you guys around ! ! !
Joe

Overflo Volunteer Spotlight - Episode 1

A blog from Overflo Volunteer, Mrs. Renee Stauffacher

What an AWESOME week. On Saturday evening, my family and some others from Parkview including some teens went to see Casting Crowns in Jax. It was an awesome experience to worship with such a large population of people who love God. I want to introduce to you Leeland if you have not already heard of them. They are a progressive Christian rock band. There songs are written for teens and young adults, and their music expresses many feelings and decisions that you face everyday. They opened for Casting Crowns Saturday night. The group is from Texas and the songwriter is 19 years old, Leeland Mooring. Leeland stated that "so many kids are lost when it comes to having a true relationship with God, even ones that go to church. Whenever we play, our main goal is to be able to minister to our generation." Check them out. Their new album is Opposite Way.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I will see you guys on Thurs.

You inspire me everyday,
Mrs. Renee

That's My Story - Episode 1

A blog from Overflo Student, Anna

Hi Anna here,

I go to Indian Trails and I'm in 7th grade. Here are a few things about myself. I like drama, movies, basketball, and lots of other stuff. I enjoy coming to Overflo to hear great teaching, sing, hang out with friends, and just have a great time.

I lead F.C.A. (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) at ITMS. I got saved when I was 7 and been in church since I was 2 weeks old. My role models are my parents, which have had a positive influence on my relationship with the Lord. Youth group is a very important part of my life and I really enjoy going. I have 1 sister, Desiree-21, and 1 brother, Timmy-31. My sister just got married and I got the privilege of being her Maid of Honor. It is amazing all the ways I have watched Christ work in my life and the lives of other people. I hope that you have the difference that I have, and enjoy telling others about it.

Totally stoked for Christ,
Anna

Who's the Iron Man Now?

Yesterday, March 15, Overflo went to Daytona Paintball to see who was mr. or mrs. tough. Well, it was a blast. Four different obstacle courses were offered and a ton of paintball. We actually used 20,000 paintballs between us all! Then someone had the bright idea to do the iron man where you stay in the game even if you get hit. You're in till you run out of amo! Well, there are a lot of whelts to prove who stayed in. Thanks to all who took part in this great activity!

Now don't forget about this Thursday, March 20! Wait till all of Overflo and the rest of the church hear the Sounds of Liberty from Liberty University as they lead Parkview Celebrate during our normal Overflo Student Night. It is going to be awesome! Then right after the service, all Overflo students are invited to hang out with the LU students for FREE ICE CREAM SUNDAES from 8:15pm to 9:00pm.

Well, have a great week! I am sure I will!

That's All I Got To Say About That...

Students of Parkview:

YOUR ministry is heading in a direction that should have you extremely fired up. Pastor Barry's vision for you guys is phenomenal. The addition of Brother Darren is going to take our praise and worship to a whole notha level. I am so happy just to be on board this freight train. God is going to do awesome things through us. We need to get his word out to our community and our schools.

You guys really stepped up to the plate and made Brother Steve and Amanda's baby shower a huge success. I saw the table after overflo Thursday night full of wonderful gifts. What a tremendous blessing they have been and will continue to be for our ministry.

Well, in the words of Forest Gump, "that's all I got to say about that"

Stoked Too,
Dr. Troy
