Tornatic Tuesday

Well, there's no tornados today, but we'll see as far as the rest of the week. These storms are getting old! Anyways, how's your week going? I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend.

We are just 2 days away from the premiere of our brand new series...

It is going to be great. We'll even begin it with a great drama from the Overflo drama team. Make sure you invite your friends too.

And an Andy update....I just stopped down and saw Brother Andy in the hospital. He is doing good. I was able to take him on a walk around the 5th floor. He is gaining strength daily but continues to cough his head off. So be praying for him. He is ready to go home after being in there for 15 days. Lord willing, he will be able to head home at the end of the week!

Well, I look forward to seeing you Thursday at 6:45pm!

Stoked about finally having Overflo Student Night,
Pastor Barry

keepin' Brother Andy in my prayers... i'm still amazed how well how everything worked out...

oh, and i got to know a student at FPC who is wiccan... for those who arn't familiar with all the religions out there it is a neopagan religion based off of nature... he was a former christian but it didn't feel like it was for him, and we started talking... after a while he became more and more curious on what was the truth... he said that christians almost have it right, until the fact that in order for something to be created that you need man and woman... i asked him i he believes that God is divine.. he said yes... from there i told him that since God is divine He does not need a woman to creat anything... from then on i could tell that he was thinking about everything, i invited him to the next overflo service and let him know that i will pray for him... (please pray for him as well...)

most eventfull day of school so far...

hunter a ninja? never thought it possible... *gasps in shock* how could this be!!! oh i just got back from rock the universe with my mom and my little bros... i met soo many cool christian people there... i would have to say stellar kart was one of my favorite bands... also i got stuck in what was called a "line" to get Brian "Head" Welch's autograph... the line lasted for 1 hour and 20 somethin' minuets!.. it was cool though, while i was waiting god put two people in the line so i wouldn't be board... they are from a church somewhere in north florida and came to visit... we started talking about a whole bunch of stuff, and the leader bought me a cd with out me asking... i said he didnt have to but he insisted the kid there exchanged email's with me so we could stay in touch... Head is a former Korn band member and turned his life around thanks to christ... i had him sign the cd and my bible

yup! he always tries to take my "super power ring" which is just a ring with a big black stone on it and pretends he's the coolest ninja ever! :) that's really cool you got to do that. was it a conference too or just a concert? one time, we were driving on the interstate and we saw a bunch of cars that wrote in their windows "rock the universe" i think they were car pooling back home or something! get some sleep- i saw u got on @ 2 in the morning! hes got an awsome testimony...

Brian "Head" Welch is from Bakersfield, California. At the tender age of 11, Head picked up a guitar and found his original calling. Barely out of high school, he helped found the controversial rock band Korn. The band became a grammy award winning, multi-platinum selling band, and quickly soared to the top of the music world while selling some 30 Million records internationally. The band was credited with being the major influence in the rise of the Nu Metal Movement. While with Korn, Head won two grammy awards and several MTV music video awards.

In February 2005, Head shocked the music world when he resigned from Korn to re-dedicate his life to Christ and focus on raising his daughter, Jennea, as a single father. The event set off a media frenzy as observers around the world sought out to understand what led this rock star out of the darkness and into the light.

Significantly, and perhaps most importantly, upon his resignation from Korn, Head made clear to the music world that he had not retired from the music and entertainment industry. With his newfound calling, Head is committed to changing the youth of this nation through his music and other entertainment ventures. In this regard, Head penned an autobiography of his life, picked up and released by Harper Collins Publishers in July 2007, entitled, "Save Me From Myself." Head gained further acclaim as a successful author, when the book quickly hit the New York Times Best Seller List (non-fiction). In his memoir, Head talks for the first time about his shocking embrace of God, and the tumultuous decade of drug and alcohol addiction that led him to his faith, where he was completely and instantly healed of his addictions.

Heads debut album also entitled, "Save Me From Myself," is a testimony of his life as he battled with drug and alcohol addiction, leaving KoRn, and finding spirituality. His debut album is a heavy metal epic, with a positive message. It will leave no doubt in everyones
mind that Head, as a founding member of KoRn, has not lost his passion for the metal sound that originally helped make his former band famous. The Debut Album is set for release September 09, and features renown musicians such as Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, David Bowie), Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, Evanescence, Nine Inch Nails). The first single, Flush, will be available exclusively on I-Tunes on July 8th. The album was mixed by Bob Clearmountain, Ralph Patlan, and Head himself.
