New Blog...Try It Out!
Overflo has been doing some tweeking over the past few days and I think we have landed on something. Overflo has now switched our blog to http://www.theoverflo.wordpress.com/. It is easier to use as well as navigate. We are also now able to match the look along with Overflo’s web site at http://www.theoverflo.com/. Enjoy…

Nothing Better In The World...
Outside of my salvation found in Christ, there's nothing better in this world that having our first child. You probably already heard, but if not...Davis Anderson Peters was born on Thursday, March 12 at 2:52pm weighing 8lbs. 14oz. and 21.5 inches long. Laura and Davis are doing well. They were able to come home from the hospital on Sunday and we've been enjoying every moment at home! I'll go ahead and apologize now because you may get tired of hearing about me being a daddy!
Well, I am sure you will meet him soon, maybe even at Parkview Celebrate on Thursday if Laura and Davis are up to it!
Speaking of Parkview Celebrate, I hope to see you out this Thursday at 7pm as we join with all of Parkview for a special service where this family dedication, communion, and baptism. There's at least 4 students getting baptized too! Also, if you have signed up to help at the Spaghetti Dinner, be here at 4:30pm. And if you haven't signed up, come on out. We could use your help. Don't forget to look sharp. Black pants and white shirts. See you then.

Thanks to all who attended and continue to join us at 727 especially for all 4 weeks of the "Best Sex Ever from God's perspective" Series. It stokes me to know that you want to get more in depth with your walk with God. Four on the Fouth
It's the 4th day of March and let me tell you, we've got a lot happening at Overflo! Here they are...
1. This Thursday night, March 5, Overflo Student Night begins a mini-series entitled, "Be My Guest." Come on out and see all that's in store. Bring a guest too! We'll be giving away prizes to guests and the Overflo students who brought them.
2. There will be NO 727 Small Groups for the next 2 Saturdays, March 7 &14. We're on a mini Winter Break! Speaking of 727, I will be awarding a student who was at all 4 weeks of 727 during our Best Sex Ever series this Thursday, March 5. See if it is you who wins the $25 gift card!
3. Sign up begins this Thursday, March 5 for the Christian artist Chris Tomlin concert in Jacksonville. Join us as we head to the Hello Love Tour in Jacksonville on Sunday, April 5. We will be departing the church at 4:00pm. Tickets are $20 and need to be paid in full at sign up!
4. And this last one....I am stoked! It's Youth Alive 2009 in Lynchburg, Va On July 5-10. Join Overflo Students, grades 6th-12th, as Overflo heads to Youth Alive for five days of fun. You will enjoy all the activities including rock wall, swimming, ice skating, snow skiing (yes, that's right) as well as tournaments. Youth Alive will feature the best Christian bands & outstanding speakers such as Building 429 and Tony Nolan as well as many others. You won’t want to miss Youth Alive! This Is How She Feels...
Ya know, there are some great things that continue to take place at Overflo! One of which I am really excited about is 727! 727 Small Groups have been awesome in 2009. Every week, students have been coming out on Saturdays at 727. We have been averaging 35-40 students. I am stoked at students digging deeper into the scriptures.
Another that excites me is, 727 has, on average, 8 adult volunteers who lead their groups every week. They rock. But even more importantly, they love to serve the students. Just last week, one of the female volunteers emailed me as soon as she got home from a 727. This is how she feels.... "Thanks for the opportunity to work with the girls, I love meeting with them on Saturday night. I just hope and pray they are getting as much out of our time together as I am."
With all that said, if you are not in a 727 group, you need to come on out this Saturday night for our final session on "Best Sex Ever from God's Perspective."

I Was Tired....
Okay, I have to admit it to you. I slept in today. Now I feel better after being upfront and honest with you. Now how about you? You sleep in today on your day off from school? Well, I hope you enjoy your day. Relax, chill out, eat, be lazy! But clean up your sorry looking room!
You got Overflo Student Night on your schedule this week? This Thursday night is gonna be fun. Here's why.... First, we cannot meet in the auditorium because they are installing all new lighting. So we are gonna be creative. Our plans are actually to do an outdoor thing in the parking lot, but now it looks as if mother nature may interfere with that idea. Now bring some warm clothing because if the rain and wind hold off, we 'll enjoy Overflo outside. Don't worry, you won't be cold 'cause we'll serve hot chocolate. If we have to move indoors, we're gonna get creative.
So with all this said, come on out and enjoy Overflo Student Night this Thursday, February 19 at 6:45pm. We'll be diving into week #3 of the "Best Sex Ever" series. This week's topic is "How Far Can I Go." Don't forget about 727 this Saturday too. We'll continue on in "BSE2" week #3 there too.

94...38...Hut, Hut, Hick
Ok, this is not a football play. It is what's happening around the Overflo right now! To say I am stoked is an understatement! I am thrilled at all God continues to do amongst our students and volunteers,
This past week, we had a high at Overflo Student Night with 94 students in attendance. It excites me to know that students are inviting other students. Now if you missed it, you missed out on a lot. We began our new series "Best Sex Ever" as we dug into what God says about sex. The whole evening was great. The drama team rocked! Their skit started the series off great. Then the band...wow...probably the best I ever heard them! They have stepped it up and done awesome. I think they are working on a brand new song to do either this week or next. Now don't miss this upcoming Thursday night. A new drama and a look at God's word on sex.
And how about 727? We started a 4 week series of small groups to go along with the BSE series. 38 students were in attendance! That's what stokes me! 38 students wanting to dig deeper into what God says on sex! If you missed it, come out this Saturday at 727. You can jump right in!

Best Week Ever...Best Sex Ever
It has been talked about (in hallways all across Palm Coast). It has been prayed about (amongst students, leaders, and parents). It has been given to us (through the creation of God). It will be taught (from God's perspective).

Thanks a Trillion!
Laura and I want to thank everyone for an incredible night last night at Overflo! You totally surprised us with much kindness. To think that everyone knew this for weeks and kept it from us is an incredible thing! We were totally shocked!

It's Been Awhile...Again
Okay, I am sorry for the long delay in writing! Things have been happening around here!
Some random thoughts:
-Stoked about this past Saturday's attendance at 727! We had 46 students and 8 adults involved in 727! Thanks to everybody who came out. The wild thing was there were 6 or more of our regulars that weren't there.
-Great start to Overflo Student Nights in '09! A large number of guests lately. The "Habits" series has challenged many including me!
-This week is the final week of "Habits". Got a wild order of service planned at Overflo Student Night.
-New series, "Best Sex Ever" begins next Thursday night on Thursday, February 5. You won't want to miss it.
-Check out TheOverflo.com for all that is coming to Overflo in February from 727 to Overflo Student Nights!
-New lighting is going to be installed in the worship center on Monday, February 16! It is gonna look great. And don't forget...all these improvements are awesome because the worship center will be all for the students when we build the new building!
-Got to do a lifetime dream yesterday (Monday). And it was phenomenal! Better than I expected! Come hear about it on Thursday!

You Gonna B There....I Won't
It's Saturday afternoon and hopefully you will be @ 727 tonight! We are in our second week of "Teens vs. Parents"! If you weren't there the 1st week, you can still join in! I am stoked about adding new men Overflo volunteers to the mix @ 727! Guys, this will allow you to get more connected in a smaller group size.
As you will notice tonight, I will not be there. I am in Alabama speaking at a youth retreat for a friend of mine's youth group. I arrived last night and spoke right when I got here. I then spoke this morning, will do again tonight and then twice tomorrow morning. It has been fun, but extremely cold here! This morning it was 14 degrees here!
I am glad to be here but certainly look forward to being back in Florida, near my wife, and hanging out with the greatest students in the world...Overflo! As an added bonus, I will be showing you a clip or two at Overflo Student Night of my trip here.
Well, I'll let you run! Missing everyone!

Gr8 Start to 2009!
We are only in the second week of 2009 and it has been a great one already! To start, Overflo Student Night kicked back in action this past Thursday night. And it was awesome! We had a great crowd and had 6 first time guests. Darren and the band did a great job on the worship. I enjoyed beginning our new series "Developing Habits that will change Your Life." This is gonna be a cool series to begin the new year!
Then we started 727 Small Groups last night. After being off for 3 weeks, I thought attendance would be low, but wow, we had a great crowd with a couple guests too! Thanks students for being faithful to all the Overflo events, services, and activities! Now if you missed our first session of "Teens vs. Parents", you can still join in at next Saturday's 727!

It's A New Year My Friends!
2008 is now past...New Year's Revolution rocked...school has now begun again! It's now time to get back in the groove of things at Overflo!
Beginning this Thursday, January 10, Overflo Student Nights are back! We will begin a new series entitled, "Developing Habits That Will Change Your Life."
Helping Overflo develop healthy habits for long-term, independent spiritual growth is the name of the game here. The HABITS Series will bring you into the Word of God and give you tools to keep developing your faith, even after you leave Overflo. The HABITS sermon series outlines 4 spiritual disciplines for all believers, young and old: hang out time with God, accountability with another believer, Bible memorization, and involvement with the church body.
